Amboseli Park is the second most popular park in Kenya. Tsavo West is one of the most renowned. You can safari to them both and experience exciting herds of wildlife up close on this 6-days road Safari ending at Kenya’s fabulous coast.
Tsavo West National Park will offer you a different experience with its scenic hills, rich deep colors and lush springs. Expect to come upon the striking baobab trees as you track for the “Big Five.”
Taita Hills is small, it is a busy place, filled with over 50 species of large wildlife. The sanctuary is greener and more dramatic than Tsavo East, with frequent sighting of lion and elephant.
Tsavo East National Park is the largest park in Kenya, and its sparse vegetation makes game spotting more accessible. You may see the unique Tsavo lions whose males lack the familiar big manes.

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner
Get ready for a busy day of adventure as Lady M Safaris driver guide picks you up for the 3-4-hour drive to Amboseli National Park. Along your route, you’ll pass local farms, Maasai herders with their flocks and, weather permitting, the majestic presence of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Safari
This massive summit surveys the plains of Amboseli and serves as a picturesque background for the vast herds of free-ranging elephants you’ll see throughout the park. Keep an eye out for other big game like lion, leopard, and Maasai giraffe as well.
The climate here is mild and dry, perfect for game drives, birding or just relaxing at your lodge or tented campground.
If you’d like to do a little more exploring, ask your guide about taking a visit to a local Maasai village. There you can meet the villagers, learn about their culture, and perhaps purchase some bright beaded jewelry – a lovely souvenir of your trip.

We’ll maximize your time at Amboseli with an early morning game drive. And then after breakfast, another game drive as we depart for our next park, Tsavo West.
The look of the land is different here at Tsavo West National Park – varying between savannah, volcanic lava beds, wild ancient baobab trees and lush green oases.
Besides the larger game of lion, buffalo, and giraffe, you’ll be treated to sights of smaller neighbors like bush baby, dik-dik, hartebeest and impala. Also, lots of monkeys scampering through the acacia trees amongst their distant cousins.
You may also spot rhinos at the special enclave here. More than 80 live in this unique environment, called the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary.

Early morning game viewing drives at the Tsavo West with a visit to the Mzima springs as we head out to Taita Hills
This private sanctuary is located right next to Tsavo West, so it’s an easy hop to get here. The landscape in this park is more verdant than Tsavo, and the game viewing is every bit as good. The sanctuary offers good birdwatching but that isn’t Taita Hills’ main attraction.
A unique aspect of this small park is the rangers here usually have a very good idea where the larger animals can be found. It’s not unheard of for safari-goers to spot over a dozen species on a game drive.

We’ll enjoy one more early morning game drive as we depart Taita Hills and then it’s a short run to our next and final park, Tsavo East.
You may have heard of Tsavo’s red dust elephants. The soil here has a rusty colour from oxidation so when the herds are ready for a dirty bath, they roll in this ruddy earth presenting a colourful coat for us to admire.
The park will offer us opportunities to find other “Big Five” like the black rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard. On our game drives through Tsavo’s rugged plains we’ll also be tracking the famous mane less Tsavo lions, whose man-eating reputation from a century ago still sparks fascination and a little excitement.
A sure spot to find some of this wildlife is at the Aruba Dam, a beautiful structure that has formed an impressive watering hole. Thousands of animals are attracted to its waters, and we’ll be there as they nourish themselves at this life-giving oasis.

Meal Plan: Breakfast
We’re up early with the rising sun and the first stirring of the animals! This is the best way to view the awakening savannah and wildlife as it emerges into the new day. Be ready for the adventure of the “hunt”.
After this first game drive, we’ll be hunting for a hearty safari breakfast at our accommodation.
Later, we’ll check out from our lodge, but the animal spotting isn’t over. We’ll go for a final game drive as we depart the park. We may see the Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock, two well-known watering holes, where thousands of animals come to drink.
Drop Off
In the late afternoon light, we’ll head back to the Kenya Coast. We’ll bring you back to your beach resort or the Mombasa port.
